- MCA/USCG Security Awareness With Designated Duties – 1 Day – $300
This is an 8 hour course and fulfills the STCW code for the requirement for a Vessel Security for Personnel with Security Duties (VSPSD). Also See: ISPS Security Officer Course
Course Length:
- 1 (one) – 8 hours (One Day)
– OR –
- 2 (two) – 4 hours (Evening Class) (4:30pm to 8:30pm)

This Course Covers The Following:
- Knowledge of current security threats and patterns
- Requirements of the different MARSEC Levels
- Techniques used to circumvent security measures
- MARSEC Levels
- Recognition and detection of dangerous substances and devices
- Recognition of characteristics and behavioral patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security
- Crowd management and control techniques
- Security-related communications
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and contingency plans
- Operation of security equipment and systems
- Testing, calibration, and maintenance of security equipment and systems, both ashore and at sea
- Inspection, control, and monitoring techniques
- Methods of physical screening of persons, personal effects, baggage, cargo, and vessel stores
